Summer Reading Program

The importance of summer reading has been demonstrated repeatedly in a variety of research studies. Over and over again, it has been shown that children who read during the summer do much better in school when it starts again in the fall.

At GCA all students, from Kindergarten to Upper School, are encouraged to read as much as possible during the summer months. In addition, students entering 3rd grade and above are required to read at least two books from a given list. Below you will find GCA's Summer Reading Program guidelines for each grade.
